Peria's "Parties"

  • Hey everyone!

So, if you play a lot of different types of MMO's you'll know that when people party up for either teaming for a quest or dungeon or some other reason they look for specific criteria in the players they need for their party.

Sometimes there isn't one, just wanna have fun and socialize, but a lot we probably see something like a player needing a high level priest.

In shooters/FPS there isn't always some sort of level system and when there is it doesn't always "mean" something as it's based on your actual skills such as aiming for a kill.

Peria though.. isn't a shooter, Peria also seems to not have classes. We can fight but we are suppose to rely on Kirana....

So how would we party up with others? What types of players would we look for? Do we care about what types Kirana they have and their powers/levels more than the player?

  • Yeah, the no class system for Peria is interesting... it makes it both hard and non traditional in the sense that you'd probably be looking at elemental counters (ex: fire beats grass). It also highlights the danger in that a players team is more important than the player itself

Now what would that mean for players? Well who knows, im guessing you could solo lots of dungeons if you have the right Kirana but wheres the fun in that?

Also I dont hope its all Kirana only based, while I love the idea we should also be able to fend for ourselves right? What if our Kirana team dies... then we cant complete the dungeon?

Lots of goodies wed have to see in the game itself. I just hope this is the year they finally come out in KR, then I can stop hyping and start playing :p. If not well ill keep waiting :/

  • I still agree with the idea that players shouldn't have to rely on kirana. If i can get my hands on a good sword and some skills, i should be fine without kirana lol

  • Hmm.

When I played the peria chronicles in G-Star, one avatar had a variety of Kirana. Kirana to attack enemies, Kira to teleport, Kirana to attack, Kira to equip.

It can be carried as a deck like TCG (Trading Card Game). Depending on the combination, the user may be a tanker or a healer.

If you have all the Kirana, you can do any position in the party.

Kirana is a skill, weapon, armor.

The difference is what kind of Kirana you take when you enter the dungeon.

But this is also two years ago, so I do not know how it is now.

  • Wow thats awesome, thanks for the detail! Are you going to attend G-Star if they show up this year?

Also if thats the case looks like we really wont be able to fend for ourselves unless we have really good armour

I go to the G-star every year.

I did not understand the second sentence. sorry :-

  • Oh great! If you see peria let us know :)

Also the second sentence was just me talking about how we wont be able to fight against kirana without kirana

I do not know if it will appear in the G-star this year. But official news is obviously from late October to early November. Until then, I can not tell anything other than guessing.

The second one I would like to explain more.

Humans can not fight without Kirana. It is impossible without Kirana. However, Kirana's form varies. For example, a sword resembles a sword. Kira is like a bow. They do not fight like other Kirana but are used by the user (avatar) as a weapon or tool. Maybe the same thing about combat, such as armor and helmets.

But. This part of the G-star in 2016 was a lot of intellectuals and may come out to change a lot.

  • So all our equipment, and the entire game is based on Kirana? Well thats something else... it means you fail a mission if all your Kirana are wiped out :/

  • Some games take longer to develop. Take Diablo 3 for instance, took them 11 years. Since peria is more or less a sandbox, Id say we can expect an alpha soon, but it would probably take another 2 years for full release.

Seems like they might have bitten off a bit more than they can chew with this project. It's definitely ambitious so the long development times really aren't all that surprising but The lack of news is definitely doesn't help with morale.

I kinda feel like a lot of people haven't given up on hope quiet yet but don't necessarily expect to hear anything anytime soon either. I guess it's not so bad since you won't get disappointed with months of radio silence and it'll come as a pleasant surprise for when they do make an announcement.

Well I said 2 years later but honestly its been longer. And I get it, refreshed engine and graphics but dang, they shouldve just stayed low on the radar. If theres anything you dont want to give fans is hope too early because then hype will make them crazy! Take me for example :(

Yeah I feel you man whenever I hear news about this game no matter how small I lose my mind, like stop it I can only get so erect

I think the lack of news mixed with the fact that they gave news earlier doesnt help. Keeps fans on their toes when theres nothing to really wait for as of yet,

I dream of the day somebody uploads or says "Peria Chronicles is finally out, FOR REAL"

With the latest news about securing additional funding at least we know there's still active investment and long-term financial interest in the game. The $5.6M will keep them going for quite some time and is definitely enough to keep my hopes alive for quite some time.

Yeah that gave me quite a bit of hope for the game, its refreshing to see active interest
